East Asia or Eastern Asia (the latter form preferred by the United Nations) is a subregion of Asia that can be defined in either geographical or cultural terms. Geographically and geo-politically, it covers about 12,000,000 km (4,600,000 sq mi), or about 28 percent of the Asian continent, about 15 percent bigger than the area of Europe. More than 1.5 billion people, about 38 percent of the population of Asia or 22 percent of all the people in the world, live in geographic East Asia. This is about twice the population that Europe has. The region is one of the world's most populated places, with a population density of 133 inhabitants per square kilometre (340 /sq mi), being about three times the world average of 45 /km (120 /sq mi). Using the UN subregion definitions, it ranks second in population only to Southern Asia. Historically, many societies in East Asia have been part of the Chinese cultural sphere, and East Asian vocabulary and scripts are often derived from Classical Chinese and Chinese script. Sometimes Northeast Asia is used to denote Japan, North Korea, and South Korea. Major religions include Buddhism (mostly Mahayana), Confucianism or Neo-Confucianism, Taoism, Chinese folk religion in China, Shinto in Japan, Shamanism in Korea, Mongolia and other indigenous populations of northern East Asia, and more recently Christianity in South Korea. The Chinese Calendar is the root from which many other East Asian calendars are derived. From Wikipedia under the

Do you know any Far East Asian novels written during the Ancient times? Asked by Alexander C - Sun Apr 13 17:15:14 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. What is considered the first novel was written by a female from that region. It's called The Tale of Genji. Her actual name is unknown but she is usually refered to as Murasaki Shikibu. She wrote in the 11th century, not ancient times; however, anything pre-dating her (ie ancient times) isn't usually considered a novel. What makes that so?
Q. To clarify: I've been told that white men look more masculine than East Asian men. What features of white men typically make them look more masculine? Asked by Tea B - Fri Oct 10 01:47:15 2008 - - 12 Answers - 0 Comments A. With height and average testosterone aside the main reason is the shapes of our faces. Asian men and women have rounder faces that gives a child like look. Also when white and black men turn from a boy to a man there eye brows drop right above the eyes called the brow ridge which gives a masculine/tough/ mad look. Asians don't have brow ridges they just eye brows put on their foreheads without that caveman brow ridge. Here look: Manly white men have low eyebrows. But even manly asian men don't have low eyebrows. Next time when you watch football you will notice it. Answered by Hamburglerdude - Fri Oct 10 17:02:00 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "East Asian"
