AdjectiveMiddle Eastern
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. The Middle East (or, formerly more common, the Near East) is a region that spans southwestern Asia, southeastern Europe, and northeastern Africa. It has no clear boundaries, often used as a synonym to Near East, in opposition to Far East. The corresponding adjective to the Middle East is Middle-Eastern and the derived noun is Middle-Easterner. The history of the Middle East dates back to ancient times, and throughout its history the Middle East has been a major centre of world affairs. The Middle East is also the historical origin of three of the world’s major religions—Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. The Middle East generally has an arid and hot climate, with several major rivers providing for irrigation to support agriculture in limited areas. Many countries located around the Persian Gulf have large quantities of crude oil. In modern times the Middle East remains a strategically, economically, politically, culturally and religiously sensitive region. From Wikipedia under the

Answered by Orla C - Fri Jan 30 10:11:33 2009 Is it possible to adopt any babies or toddlers from Middle Eastern countries such as Afghanistan or Iraq? Q. Is it at all possible to adopt a baby or toddler from a Middle Eastern country like Iraq or Afghanistan or another Middle Eastern country? Is there any information or websites out there about this? I just know that these countries have experienced a lot of distress and war so I was curious to know if there are any babies/toddlers available there for adoption. I'm from America and not Muslim, but I'm looking to adopt a child internationally. Asked by Eva - Thu Jul 10 00:06:03 2008 - - 8 Answers - 0 Comments A. true in many situations the family takes in the child... but what the other poster said is very true... since "adoption" as it is in the USA does not happen in those countries, you can't really adopt... the culture there is that children have a plot in life, and if they are left without parents, then someone else cannot become their parent... this is all explained on the USA travel web site (the gov site mentioned above) adoption is part of our culture, but no all the countries of the world... Q. I make this all the time for myself, and this is how it's done: Boil fava beans Boil millet Put both in a pot Add salt, pepper, white wine, tahini sauce, and olive oil Stir Done. It consists of middle eastern ingredients, and I could eat it every day. I am, in fact, eating it right now, there's a steaming bowl of it standing right here, next to me. Does anyone know what this is called? I have no idea myself, just started making it one day.
