A sandwich is a food item, often consisting of two or more slices of bread with one or more fillings between them, or one slice of bread with a topping or toppings, commonly called an open sandwich. Sandwiches are a widely popular type of lunch food, typically taken to work or school, or picnics to be eaten as part of a packed lunch. They generally contain a combination of salad vegetables, meat, cheese, and a variety of sauces. The bread can be used as it is, or it can be coated with any condiments to enhance flavor and texture. They are widely sold in restaurants and cafes.

How do I stop my sandwich from going soggy?
Q. I usually bring a sandwich with me to work most days, containing lettuce, tomato, cheese and ham. By the time lunch comes around it's normally always a bit soggy. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can stop this?

Where can I find a peanut butter and jelly sandwich from the 1980s?
Q. I used to get these from public school lunch program in Cleveland, Ohio. They were the length of a ice cream sandwich and half the thickness. The sandwich was made with something similar to graham crackers. Most of my fellow classmates did not like them, but I loved them.
