How is a prong usually fixed on a white gold diamond ring?
Q. A diamond fell out on my wedding ring, and I took it to a jeweler to have it fixed. They put it back in and replaced two of the prongs. A few weeks later the prongs turned black and one even fell off. I took it back and they said it could happen from the solder. Is this usually how they fix rings? Are there any other ways to fix prongs besides solder? Thanks

A. No there isn't. A new piece has to be soldered on - BUT, what happened with your ring is very sloppy workmanship (I am putting it mildly). If the right solder is used in the right way, this should not happen. I would request my money back and take this ring elsewhere. Totally not acceptable.

How can you stop a fixed male cat from spraying on everything?
Q. I have a 3 year old male cat. He is fixed, but he pees (sprays) on everything and you can't get rid of that smell! How do I stop him. He does it on anything left on the floor (backpacks, papers, etc.), furniture, the Christmas tree!! I love him and don't want to get rid of him. Can this be fixed?

A. I had the same problem. Make sure he always have a reasonably clean litterbox. Mine was picky, and if it wasnt clean enough (litter change DAILY) he would pee elsewhere. You might want to have more than one also. (one upstairs, one downstairs, etc.,) Also make sure you are getting the scent out of places he has peed. You might not smell it, but boy he can. He'll continue to pee where he has marked. Try vinegar and things like that. Also you could try a different brand of litter. Mine will only use the clay, otherwise they go elsewhere. Lastly, if nothing else works, have your vet give him the onceover to make sure there is no bladder infection or other urinary problem. Good luck!

My female cat got fixed today when does she start to act normal?

A. Your cat got her belly sliced open...what do you expect? Give her a week or so before expecting her to run, jump, etc...her belly HURTS!! Did the vet give you any pain meds for her? If not, fix her a "hot water bottle" and put it beneath a thin towel for her to lay against. This will help ease the soreness. If she starts to lick, bite, chew on her stitches, get some Bitter Apple spray and spray the stitches AND all around that area. This stuff tastes terrible, and she won't like it, so will leave the incision site alone. Hope this helps...Good luck. I'm sure your "girl" will appreciate not having to endure the heats, anymore...
