A. I have 3 children. The first was with relaxation and no drugs. The second was w/ staydol (which I hated) and the third was with an epideral. And I have to say the epideral is the way to go. But all in all it was not the worst thing I've ever been through. It really is not that bad until transition and that only last for a short time. Trust me honey it is well worth any pain. If it were so bad there would be alot of only children.

How long after you lost your mucus plug did labour start?
Q. I'm 41 weeks 6 days pregnant today and had my bloody show through out the night. Im due to get induced tomorrow evening at 6 but would really like to spend the first part of labour at home instead of at the hospital. How likely is it I will go in to full labour between now and then? Will my induced labour be a bit easier now that my body is actually starting labour itself? Thanks for your answers.

A. They may not even need to induce at this point. It sounds as if you are finally going to go into labor on your own. Walk. Walk. Walk. You could be in by tonight if you walk. Drink plenty of water and make sure everything is ready. If you DO have to go to induction, yes, it will likely be easier because, if you are having your bloody show, you are likely at least 1-2 centimeters dialated by now. Much better than starting from zero. BUT - if the doctor stripped your membranes at the last appointment trying to start labor (likely if you are this far along), this may not be the actual bloody show.

How much more barmy would our Government have to be for Labour voters to see the light?
Q. I laughed my socks off when the Americans re-elected George Bush and thought thank God that could never happen in the UK. Yet despite all the corruption, lies, incompetence and destruction of our Nation there are still people planning to vote New Labour! If the past thirteen years are anything to go by under loony Labour surely anyone still intending to vote for them must be likely to be sectioned!

A. Anyone wanting to vote for the Tory's need sectioning as well, its the two party system breeds corruption, lies, incompetence and the destruction of our Nation, its not limited to New Labour and you'd be a fool to think otherwise. I'm voting Lib Dem, just for their electoral reform pledge.

Dictionary of Burning Words of Brilliant Writers (1895

Quotes reported in Josiah Hotchkiss Gilbert, Dictionary of Burning Words of Brilliant Writers (1895).

  • No man is born into the world whose work is not born with him. There is always work, and tools to work withal, for those who will.
  • Let parents who hate their offspring rear them to hate labor, and to inherit riches; and before long they will be stung by every vice, racked by its poison, and damned by its penalty.
