Q. I've been doing a bit of online research and can find no clear answer. Many maps that show plate boundary motions leave the boundary between the Eurasian Plate and the North American Plate blank. Can this boundary be classified as convergent, divergent, or transform? Asked by Comstock - Wed May 7 10:29:00 2008 - - 1 Answers - 1 Comments A. One the east side of the North American Plate, it has divergent boundary. On the West side there are divergent boundaries, transform boundaries and convergent boundaries. So you could say that all of the answers apply. Take a look at the pangea.standard, edu power point display. It will answer most of your questions. In google I used "diffuse plate boundary asian north american " for my search terms. Lots of good references come up. The pangea stanford file is one of the best I have seen. If you cann't run powerpoint, let me know and I will convert it to a self running file. Answered by Rocknocker - Wed May 7 13:40:49 2008 Should the north American union be voted on by the people? Q. How come the occurrence of tornadoes is so widespread on the North American continent? I know they occur elsewhere in the world on occasion, but nowhere near as frequently as here. This year seems to be a special year for them- there have already been quite a few in January and February. Asked by ed sullivan - Sun May 11 01:03:32 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. These are naturally occuring storms and are no more prevalent this year than last year. Remember, the weather you get goes in cycles. One year the conditions are set up and the next year they are not. Answered by stl_luna_7 - Sun May 11 04:07:07 2008 From Yahoo Answer Search: "north american" |
