Nounregions
From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. Region is most commonly a geographical term that is used in various ways among the different branches of geography. In general, a region is a medium-scale area of land or water, smaller than the whole areas of interest (which could be, for example, the world, a nation, a river basin, mountain range, and so on), and larger than a specific site. A region may be seen as a collection of smaller units (as in "the New England states") or as one part of a larger whole (as in "the New England region of the United States"). Regions can be defined by physical characteristics, human characteristics, and functional characteristics. As a way of describing spatial areas, the concept of regions is important and widely used among the many branches of geography, each of which can describe areas in regional terms. For example, ecoregion is a term used in environmental geography, cultural region in cultural geography, bioregion in biogeography, and so on. The field of geography that studies regions themselves is called regional geography. From Wikipedia under the

Q. a. Some regions do not have large amounts of pollution to turn the rain acidic. b. In some regions, the carbonate rock neutralizes the acid rain before it builds up in lakes. c. The wind patterns blow pollution away so the pollution doesn't affect the local area as much. d. Some areas have stricter laws controlling the amount of pollution dumped into the atmosphere. e. All of these are reasons why acid rain affects regions differently. Asked by lizzie p - Sun Sep 14 15:20:44 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. yes you are good student... Answered by Mark P - Mon Sep 15 07:32:10 2008 How do the fermi levels of p and n-regions of an unbiased p-n junction adjust to become equal? Q. The original fermi level of the p and n-regions taken separately are different due to difference in concentration and type of doping. However, at the junction, the energy level diagram usually depicts a common fermi level while conduction and valency bands are displaced. How does that happen? Asked by fortunefinder - Wed Dec 5 12:35:40 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. Energy levels in materials are always relative. In other words, you can say that the conduction band is so many eV above the valence band, but it has no particularly absolute value. The Fermi level is simply the energy level of the topmost occupied electronic state (at T = 0). Thid once again is relative - you can say where it is with respect to say the valence band. Until, that is, you join the two materials. When you do this the energy of the topmost occupied state on the n side *must* be the same as that on the p side because the materials are in contact. If it were not, then electrons would flow into the lower energy states across the boundary until they were. Clearly, for these two levels to be the same across the boundary, the… [cont.] Answered by epidavros - Wed Dec 5 13:15:25 2007 How many regions of high electron density are there around the central atom in the following molecule?
Q. How many regions of high electron density are there around the central atom in the following molecule: O = S = O There's supposed to be two dots above and below both O's and two dots below S.
