Because sculpture involves the use of materials that can be moulded or modulated, it is considered one of the plastic arts. The majority of public art is sculpture. Many sculptures together in a garden setting may be referred to as a sculpture garden. From Wikipedia under the

I find the whole idea of negative space hard to define and express, any help would be gratefully received. Asked by cobra - Thu May 15 08:38:55 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments A. a sculptural explanation would be: negative space is the stone you have to chip away to reveal the sculpture inside. Generally you can look at the object. Or you can look what of the background the object obscures, any object takes an object-shapes "hole" out of the background. If you look at the background around your object you are looking at the negative space. (one of my favorite artists, Shinkichi Tajiri, did so-called junk art in the fifties but unfortunately it's hard to find info on, but if you're really interested you should give it a try!) Q. What did the Renaissance painters, sculptors, and writers have in common? Asked by Binny - Sun Apr 22 15:10:33 2007 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments A. They were interested in the rebirth of classical forms. They all looked back to ancient Rome for inspiration. They were supported by important people like Lorenzo the Magnificant and other princes, King Francis I, and the Papacy. Besides classical forms they were interested in classical themes, especially from Greek and Roman mythology. I hope this has been a help to you.
